The Institute For Learning provides a series of one-week teacher trainings for schools seeking to find a more effective way to teach.

Mother Tongue Books

The Mother Tongue Books project empowers children to become literate by reading and writing in their native language.

Creole Gardens

Matènwa’s thriving school gardens embody hands-on, child-centered learning where students cultivate organic produce, practice environmental stewardship, and inspire surrounding communities to embrace sustainable farming and protect the island of Lagonav.

Summer Camp

Each July, Matènwa comes alive with a vibrant summer camp where local teachers, students, and visiting participants learn, share meals, and engage in meaningful exchanges that strengthen community ties and inspire collaborative learning.

Art Matènwa nurtures creative expression and economic empowerment by supporting women artisans, fostering cultural exchange, and promoting art as a means of education, resilience, and community development in Matènwa.
